What is the history of the Timberland brand?

In the 1950s, Nathan Swartz bought out the abington shoe company, which made shoes near Boston. To achieve this, Swartz father and son created injection molding, which revolutionized the design of waterproof shoes. They succeeded in making a waterproof shoe that no longer needed seams between sole and leather. In the 70's, one of the members of the family business created the famous yellow boot that would give the brand its name: the timberland. This waterproof boot was technically innovative, made from wheat-yellow full-grain nubuck leather, with reinforced sealed seams, an injection-welded midsole, a notched outsole and a glove leather lining. These early boots have become so iconic that they now bear the name " Timberland Icon 6 inch Premium Boot", which vintage enthusiasts love to unearth. Urban, chic, comfortable, made with natural materials and innovative technology, timberland boots are a great success and are now made for all ages and sexes.

In the 80s, timberland tackled a fashion classic: the boat shoe, or rather the boat moccasin. Timberland put a foot in the sports and nautical world and offered a more varied range of shoes for men, always top-of-the-range, proposing a preppy lifestyle with quality products that last over time.
