The kimono is a traditional part of Japanese clothing culture, starting out as an undergarment and becoming a symbol of geisha culture. Becoming popular, it is made famous by fashionistas and stars who wear it with classic pieces of women's dressing. Women's kimonos are available in a wide range of styles in our online store: silk, extra long, chiffon, baroque prints... so that every woman can find her ideal kimono.

How to wear a woman's kimono

  • Baroque-print kimonos

Very much in vogue, the long baroque-print kimono is worn with high-waisted slim or skinny jeans and transparent heeled sandals. With a baroque print kimono, you can create a bohemian chic look with ease, whatever your body type. Or opt for the 3-piece kimono and baroque trouser set, worn with ablack crop top and wedge sandals.

  • Oversized kimono in plain green

A very elegant plain green oversized kimono is worn with high-waisted raw blue denim shorts and a pair of wedge sandals. Team it with a basket bag and straw hat for a refined country look. In winter, the plain green oversized kimono can also be worn with high-waisted 7/8 white pants and a pair of black lace-up ankle boots.

  • The extra-long floral kimono

Feminine and delicate, wear the extra-long floral kimono with a black tulle ruffled skirt, a purse or basket bag and a black off-the-shoulder top for a modern, contemporary look. The extra-long floral kimono can also be worn with a white crop top and low-rise light-blue jeans.

  • The short kimono with ruffles

Glamorous and sensual, the ruffled short kimono can be worn indoors or out, and is perfect for women who telecommute to embrace the sleepwear and loungeweartrend . The ruffled short kimono can be worn with high-waisted white linen shorts, a macramé bag and a pair of flat sandals. For a beach look, you can wear your short ruffled kimono with your swimsuit, a pair of sunglasses and a basket bag to carry just the essentials!

  • Belted kimono with scarf print

For an assertive, modern look, opt for the belted scarf-print kimono with dark blue high-waisted jeans, a turtleneck sweater and a pair of chunky loafers. Alternatively, wear the scarf-print belted kimono with black chino pants, a pair of white sneakers and a saddle bag.

How to choose a woman's kimono according to body type?

For women with an A morphology, i.e. with shoulders smaller than the hips and waist, it's best to opt for short kimonos, scarf-print kimonos or even baroque-print kimonos. Choosing a patterned kimono with this type of silhouette harmonizes and balances your appearance and body volumes.

For women with a V morphology, i.e. shoulders wider than the waist and hips, we recommend ruffled kimonos, or extra-long plain kimonos. With this type of silhouette, pair your kimono with wide-leg pants, flare jeans or brightly-colored carrot pants to harmonize your outfit and your look.

For women with an I morphology, i.e. a long, slim figure with little or no waistline and naturally androgynous, we recommend oversize kimonos. You can also opt for kimonos with large patterns, such as scarf-print kimonos or baroque-print kimonos.

For women with an O morphology, i.e. curvaceous, petite women, we opt for fluid, plain, mid-length kimonos with gold detailing on the seams to create an illusion and elongate the silhouette.

For women of size 8, all kimonos are suitable, but remember to belt your kimono and wear it with heels to accentuate your feminine curves.

What accessories go with a woman's kimono?

Wear a woman's kimono with feminine, natural pieces: exotic jewelry, gold creoles, clutch bags, a minaudière bag, nude watches...

With a woman's kimono, accessories should be both discreet, so as not to steal the limelight from your main piece, and in keeping with the kimono's motif. It's important not to overload your outfit with too many accessories, or accessories that are too massive.
